EA, Starz Premieres Dante's Inferno Trailer

Source:YouTube
November 14, 2009

Dramatically over the top yet visually cool, here's the trailer for the upcoming animated feature Dante's Inferno from Starz. Like last year's Dead Space: Downfall, this film serves as a companion piece to Electronic Arts' upcoming video game, itself inspired by Dante Alighieri's "The Divine Comedy." Packed with carnage and brimming with bloodshed, Dante's Inferno follows one man's descent into hell.

Apparently, Starz has enlisted a series of directors (behind other animated films like Ghost in the Shell and Blood: The Last Vampire) to helm different segments as the film's protagonist ventures from one circle of hell to the next.

Look for the DVD and Blu-Ray in February.

Very interesting! I just got Dead Space: Downfall last week. I thought it was pretty cool, makes me wanna play the game. Downfall definately does have some Pandorum qualities to it so check out Pandorum its a good flick.

My only problem with this is that given that all the anime these guys have done in the past have been very amazing, every one of the clips in this trailer looks like Vampire Hunter D. Even when the style changes up it still looks like D.

Frankly I'd rather go watch D and the Bloodlust sequel then watch this Animatrix knock off, even if I've seen them before I can guarantee they're worth my time.

I will be picking this up the day it comes out. I'm glad more non Japanese originated stories are getting Japanese animated, its the perfect artform especially for a story like Dante's inferno. Deadspace:Downfall is amazing by the way.
