Halloween II DVD, Blu-Ray Date Set

Source:Video ETA
November 10, 2009

Rob Zombie's Halloween II is making its DVD and Blu-Ray debut on January 12, 2010, according to Video ETA.

Dimension Film's presentation will include the director's preferred cut (as Zombie talked about here) and will likely feature another extensive making-of documentary.

The sequel opened in August, however, it made a return this Halloween season for a brief run and has grossed $37 million worldwide to date.

My expectations for this are so low, how bad can it be? Buster Rhymes bad???

There's no way I get this DVD unless I can get it for $5 or less, so sorry Dimension, you're not getting $20 from me for this.

I can only justify the price of a rental for this movie on DVD. That's just how I feel about it.

Two separate theater runs and still only grossed $37 million? DVD/Blueray coming out, might as well just burn $20-30.00 with a match and call it a day. Will get just as much out of that as I would watching the movie.

Darn, when i read this i thought it was talking about the original halloween 2 comming to bluray :) i liked rob zombie's H2, and will get the movie when it comes out, but i wish they would have more of the original series availible on bluray like they are doing with the friday the 13th movies. either way i cant wait to see the director's cut of this one :)

Good. I hope it is better than the Theatrical version, can't be worse. I was pretty disappointed with it.

Posted by: BrandEn on November 10, 2009 at 19:12:08

Personally i hope the directors cut version will feature more scenes with Scout Taylor Compton, she was the best part for me of both of zombie's halloweens. I hope she is in the 3rd one if its made and has laurie in it :)

It's lame when directors release multiple cuts of the same movie. The theatrical version should have been the definitive one. It's all about greed. Dimension will see more money on the back end. Zombie will see more money, cause gullible people will shell out for every version they decide to peddle out there.

I just hope there isn't a rape scene like his last unrated cut.

Once again, it is shocking news to hear that Dimension hopes their films are lucrative. They should be ashamed. Actually, Director's cut dvd's have much more to do with MPAA-imposed restrictions on the theatrical releases. I dug the theatrical release and am certainly excited to check out this new cut. And also, "only" 37 million grossed with 2 runs [one of which lasted a weekend] is very respectable for a film with this one's budget. Guess you must measure in terms of the latest Will Smith crap. You guys are funny.

I am all for the freedom of speech. One persons crap heap is anothers golden pile. I loved the first Rob Zombies' Halloween, even more than the original. I took alot, alot, ALOT of crap for saying as much, and I work at a video store, where lots of people rent alot of CRAP. But then I went and saw Rob Zombie's Halloween II, and well I was extremly less than empressed. And I know, who the hell am I? I'm nobody. I grew up in the 80's, the decade of horror movies. From Freddy to Jason to Chucky to Sleepaway Camp to Exoricist sequels to Night Breed, you name it I've seen it. I love horror movies to this day. Hell I went and saw Sorirety Row for S@!*sake. But Zombie's sequel was so bad it actually made me re think the first movie. And like the first one, it made me think if it was as bad and I remember it. See the first one, the first time I saw it, I didn't like it either. So in closing, I look forward to the sequel on dvd, I ain't gonna go run out and rent/buy but i will definetly give it a second viewing. And like I said in the beginning, I'm all for the freedom of speech, so after I watch it a second time, I will light it on fire and kindly ask everyone else who is with me to throw there copies on the pile.

Well considering the craptastic Friday the 13th remake made $91.3 million, yes it is about as much of a joke as you are Dutch.

I really like Rob Zombie, & I'm a fan of all his movies. He's an artist and a fan of horror. I think people may expect too much from him? Just enjoy the gore! Rock on!!!
