I have to admit, it took several viewings of Rob's initial re-imagining of "Halloween", for it to finally 'grow' on me, and for me to appreciate his alternate-faceted vision; however, his follow-up, "Halloween II", without a doubt, outright hit me like a sledgehammer, and I very much look forward to seeing what he had originally intended. Bring it in, Rob!!!!

The question is will it also be on blu-ray?

This guy just needs to stop already. A very talented musician, but come on already. His version of updating films is to shower them with needless profanity which makes the dialogue uneasy to follow and listen to. Oh, and has he really brought any new and innovative "killings" to the franchise?, no not really. For those who will quickly throw out Devil's Rejects as a cornerstone of his directorial chops - don't get me started.

I'm dying to see this movie again!

i can't wait to see the director's cut. i have to admit i LOVE the theatrical cut. LOVE IT! but i'm totally psyched to see the new version too!

I Got The First One. Can't Wait For The Second One. But I Heard The Third One Next Year Is Gonna Be 3D. And Rob Zombie Won't Be Doing It. I Hope He'll Change Hes Mind. Cause It'll Be Better. Plus If It's Not Like The Original Third Halloween It'll Be Even Greater.

I Loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee halloween sooo much this is my favortie movie hands down!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: What? on October 28, 2009 at 11:42:28
Ugh, well thanks Rob. So you're saying that I shelled out 11 bucks for fake Halloween 2 movie!
Could have saved me some money and about 90 minutes of my time A$$!!
F-You!!!

Alexis....I hope you mean that you like the origianl JC version better. If you prefer the Zombie version then you are seriously deluded my freind.
Zombie is the worst "director" I have ever seen. I tried to give the guy a chance but it turns out he is a clown-shoe.....or a ****-heel. Only time will tell for sure.

Didn't he say EXACTLY this when the film was released in cinemas???
Posted by: djblack1313 on October 28, 2009 at 14:02:03
Bill Shatner, get a grip. MANY of us LOVE this movie...MEANING H2!! and you think your William Shatner....and WHO is delusional?!! H2 was AWESOME!!
Posted by: Derek on October 28, 2009 at 14:17:00
much praise for those who liked the remake of Halloween and H2. H2 was a dark envisioning at its best. It appears all the haters didn't do their homework before seeing it, being that Rob intended to make it HIS own film and take it away from the first, because he wasn't happy with Halloween.

Why all the animosity? We should encourage differing opinions on genre films. State your case and be done with it. Is everyone a "hater" because they didn't do the required "homework" before watching a film? Fortunately, I did mine... and decided to pass on Mr. Zombie's H2. Something about that giant white horse and the promise of more Sherri Moon felt like a big treat bag full of rocks. I hope that the promised Halloween 3-D begins with the real Laurie Strode (AKA Kerri Tate) waking up from a nightmare... Just days after she's decapitated Michael.

I'm sorry, because I am a Rob Zombie fan, but if he was so rushed to meet the release date then he shouldn't have been spending so much time on TV leading up to the day he was "Finished" (A date that was actually reported in an interview here on Shock).
The movie didn't need its director to do every interview out there and it sorta shows that the studio doesn't have any faith in nearly any one else involved with the movie.
I also think Zombie should have been more forthcoming with the fact that he was so rushed. The man kept every one so posted on the play by play of his process this time that we were all lead to believe every thing was great, specially when Zombie himself said it was so perfect.
Honestly, I blame the studio (and the Wiensteins most of all) way more then I'll blame Zombie, who I'm sure had a lot on his shoulders since the company is more or less directly blaming H2's failure for most of their problems.
They didn't need to push the movie out in August, giving him at least another month to polish the film. Not to mention they didn't need to put it directly against another horror flick that regularly pulls in big numbers (Final Destination). Every time Zombie said "I don't care if its up against Final Destination, Horror is so hard to track" he really meant "I know we're screwed, I don't really care much any more". Of course it wouldn't have beaten Paranormal Activity if it was put out in October but frankly no one saw PA's success coming, that failure on Halloweens part would have at least made some sense. H2 probably would have beaten Saw IV, and that would have been a small victory to be happy about.

Why would he mess with perfection. Halloween 2 was the greatest movie I have seen in years, I would put it right behind Titanic as my fav movie ever.
But why did they put it out in August in the first place?

just watched Halloween 4 today and for you people saying that robs version sucks are on rugs cause its hard to even watch the older ones cause after seeing Robs micheal myers the others are small and wimpy looking its pathetic that you people find robs version dumb or "trailer trash" cause what zombie did is how people should see myers, a giant monster not a small wimpy douche with a knife...you rule zombie keep up the good work.

How does a kid who spent his entire teenage/mid 20 years in a mental hospital get to be a "giant"? I think the lamest RZombie scene is when MM lowers himself with ONE hand (while holding a knife) from the rafters without making a single noise. It always funny when people say "how people should see myers", why? Was Ted Bundy not scary? For some I think, find it hard to separate the very talented musical artist from the B movie visionary.
Posted by: mike on November 7, 2009 at 18:35:37
yeah but saw 6 was actually good, i liked Halloween 2 better than Halloween 1 only because there wasn't that bull about Michael being a kid as much but i don't know, i think he was an idiot saying none of the original Halloween music would have worked. but yeah I'm kinda tired of some guy just always killing someone, so i like the Saw movies were the trap kills you. and for saw to be at number 6 and still be good is impressive.
Posted by: sane_enough on November 7, 2009 at 23:36:05
Michael Myers lowering himself from the rafters with one hand was first done in H20.
So there you go, Rob Zombie connected his Halloween movies to the plethora of substandard Halloween sequeals that everybody loves so much because they were sequeals not remakes. Remakes are crap but in some cases (Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street & Friday the 13th) remakes, reboots and reimagings are needed to continue the stories of characters that we love that have been ruined by countless craptastic sequeals.
Instead of *****ing about Rob and his work, make your own damn movie and prove you're that much better than he is.
Technically as director, Rob Zombie is better than alot of other directors with a suitcase full of gold plated statues.
Deal with it.

"Technically as director, Rob Zombie is better than alot of other directors with a suitcase of gold plated statues"
Based on what? If you're really going to compare Rob Zombie to Steven Spielberg, Clint Eastwood and Martin Scorsese than I guess there is nothing more to say. There's an old saying: "don't get into a fight with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience"
And that is saying A LOT.
