An interesting assessment courtesy of the Box Office Mojo team. While looking into the top grossing horror films (it's the Halloween season, time to step back and look at the genre's success), BOM posted on their homepage a list of the top grossing supernatural films of all time and thought it was worthy enough to share. Many that ranked in the top ten were released in the last decade (thanks to a rise in ticket price).

Loved Paranormal Activity, hope it goes big. Am happy Blair Witch is #2, it's my third favorite horror movie behing Trick 'r Treat and Paranormal Activity!

Which three did you pick? I'm guessing Poltergeist, The Others, and The Ring?

I would have gone with The Exorcist(Original), Poltergeist, Ghostbusters, 13 Ghosts, and House on Haunted Hill(remake). And I would have gone with The Original Exorcist as Scariest.

I'm surprised the Sixth Sense didn't make the list.

Actually, the list is mistaken. The Sixth Sense should be #1 According to Box Office Mojo it grossed $293,506,292 domestic and $672,806,292 worldwide.
Other than that, great list! :-)
