We spoke to writer/director Ti West earlier this week about his latest feature
The House Of The Devil, and although it's currently available for VOD with a theatrical release set for October 30th, we asked the filmmaker if he'd given any thought to the supplemental material for the inevitable DVD release.
"As of right now, there’s 2 commentaries, a behind the scenes, a featurette and some deleted scenes," he says.
"Now, the DVD’s not done, so I don’t know if all that will actually be on there, but all that stuff has been recorded and turned in."
When asked to elaborate exactly what bonus material he turned in, he tells Shock,
"There’s a half hour (on set) behind the scenes and a 5 minute featurette and 3 deleted scenes from the movie. We recorded one commentary with me and Jocelin Donahue, and then a second commentary with producers Larry Fessenden, Peter Phok, composer Graham Reznick and myself."
With the theatrical set for later this month, obviously no DVD date has been set as of yet, but we're guessing we can expect to see it on store shelves around February 2010.
Check back for our complete interviews with Ti West, Jocelin Donahue and AJ Bowen from
The House Of The Devil next week!

This movie had the great early 80's slasher/grind house look and feel to it. I was almost convinced this was an older flick. Over all the action is a bit slow paced, with an ending that was just above satisfying. The period cotumes were spot on (the Walkman was a great touch), even the period correct product placement was a joy to watch. Goodness I could go into real detail, but I'm not an official reviewer or anything.
