Jenny Wright is set to jump back in front of the camera for the first time in over a decade for the upcoming horror/thriller
Murder For Dummys, currently in pre-production from Falling Sky Entertainment in conjunction with Chase Films LLC.
Wright is of course recognized by genre fans for her work in
The Lawnmower Man,
I, Madman and most notably her memorable portrayal of Mae in Katherine Bigalow’s vampire cult classic
Near Dark.
Also attached to star are fellow genre veterans Christa Campbell (
2001 Maniacs), Brandon Johnson (
Malevolence,
Little Erin Merryweather) and Tony Todd (
Candyman). Emerson Bixby (son of
Twilight Zone,
Star Trek writer Jerome Bixby) is set to write and produce the project with David Capurso directing.
The story takes place on Halloween night and involves a couple and their friend accidentally killing a costumed trick or treater in a hit and run, then trying to cover up the murder. Once the friend starts to develop a taste for murder, comic and grisly twists and turns ensue.
Russ Russo is also starring and producing
Murder For Dummys, and is attached to 2 other genre projects as well –
Into The Darkness (with Kiowa Gordon of
The Twilight Saga: New Moon) and Dan Walton’s
Bind, for which he serves as a producer on as well.
All 3 above mentioned films are currently in pre-production and gearing up to shoot early next year with a potential Halloween 2010 release.
Wright is also set to make her first ever convention appearance at the Horrorhound Weekend in Cincinnati, OH on November 20th-22nd. (Details at our previous news post

We’ll keep you posted on the status of

That's wonderful. The movie sounds interesting but I'll only see it for Jenny Wright.
