Update... Lussier has confirmed this for us saying they had a small window to move on the film. So it has been delayed a bit.

I wonder which will be worse.
Posted by: RubberPoopMonster on September 29, 2009 at 21:35:12
Halloween 3-D will be worse. I don't see why they want to take their time, it is probably going to be as bad or worse than the last one. People might like it more than the original H3 though...

Good to see that they're wisely going to take their time on this one,for hopefully they can properly re-tool it and make it a real good HALLOWEEN sequel that doesn't disappoint as much as Parts 5,6,H20,and RESURRECTION did(being that this one will be in 3-D).
And the less said about Rob Zombie's contributions to the series, the better.

Rob Zombie brought some new elemnts to Halloween and, like it or not, its part of Michael's history. Halloween 3d suck by the name alone, so I expect that to bomb quickly. Since Rob has completed his version, what should be done now is to revive the old footage thats just sitting on the shelf. EVERY Halloween fan will be all over that.

I really liked Rob Zombie's Halloween not as good as the original but still really good but H2 wasn't that good and if there planning on making a sequel to it then I hope its more scarier and more of Micheal stalking his victims then him just killing the **** out of every one I still will see it but the 3D will just **** it up worse then it will probably already be
Posted by: Nico on September 30, 2009 at 01:28:48
There are probably half a hundred directors sitting by the phone waiting to direct a movie, especially horror. Plenty of hacks see their films released all the time on DVD. The script must really suck, which is funny. Are screenwriters really this unimaginative?
Posted by: Chugs on September 30, 2009 at 02:58:00
This "Halloween" doesn't sound like it is going to be good? I mean it will probably be worse than "H2:Halloween 2" cause that one didn't make sense.
Posted by: francesco on September 30, 2009 at 03:17:07
oh noooooooooooooo. that sucks.
Posted by: Ishmael on September 30, 2009 at 11:32:00
how about they don't make it at all...that sounds like the best idea yet.
according to the first line of this article they seem to finally have their head on straight with a release date for a Halloween film with releasing it in October...unlike Zombie and company who released their furry turd*s in August...IN AUGUST!?!?! last time i checked Halloween isn't in the Summer season.
but i digress...there is nothing, NOTHING, this film can do to help out Zombie's limp-trashified films or this attempted revamped franchise
MY GOD...these films make me want to take a nail gun to the "yes men" in Hollywood who approve this heaping pile of steamy schlock.
i will admit i redboxed Zombie's first Halloween film...and i am so happy i only spent a dollar to see it. i just wish i didn't gouge out my eyes half way through it. i 100% absolutely REFUSE to contine supporting Zombie or any other lame attempts with this franchise. why you might ask...because they can't honor the source material and the FILMS ARE AWFUL...granted some of the originals missed the mark BIG TIME...but at least they were entertaining and Myers was still a B.A.M.F...does anyone else remember when Myers lifted that doctor chick in Halloween 6 and spiked her head to the wall...now thats classic Halloween...especially when he stands there and watches afterwards...oh, you don't remember that...then it must be due to Zombie's awful films...well here's the link for it...give it a gender
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KGgZTRRRgA
thats how its suppsed to be done!
Michael Myers and the original Halloween/s are among my favorite horror/slasher flicks...Zombie's lame-white trash-uncreative- attempts with this franchise has ruined this character and the original films for thousands of younger cinematic viewers...because they have no idea what Michael Myers is supposed to be like.
lets use this forum to share what we love about the originals...and not even honor these lame "re-vamed" sequels by discussing them at all.

Sounds like a smart and well made decision. Just as long as it gets made and we get the real Michael Myers back.

Further proof that there is in fact a God and that he is listening.

Rob Zombie had the balls to mold Michael Myers in his own vision. While H2 had its flaws, I still enjoyed it, though it was nowhere near as good as the first film. I don't get this universal hate for what Rob did with the character. It's a remake, people - remaking something means adding new elements, characteristics and plot points. You'd rather he shot a frame-by-frame version of the 1978 classic, like Vince Vaughn in Psycho? (shudders)
Zombie took something he loved and put his own spin on it - deal with it. I'm all for giving other directors a shot with the character, but I question how they're going to move forward with Michael since he was absolutely hacked to **** at the end of H2. His face looked like hamburger.
But this is Todd Farmer we're talking about - he'll probably throw Michael in space or on Mars or some ****.

A lot of arguing could be stopped if the fans who didn't like Zombie's Halloweens would just admit that they prefer a fantasy version of Halloween instead of a realistic slant.
You all want a Michael Myers who always wears a clean white mask, regardless of the circumstances. How does it stay so pristine?
You hated the fact that he "looks like a hobo" and has long hair and a beard. Should he shop at the Gap and go to a barber shop every once in a while for a trim?
He eats dogs and presumably other animals he kills. Do you really see him sitting down at a diner or swinging through Burger King for a whopper? Imagine the outcry if Zombie showed him eating out of a dumpster.
He grunts when he kills people. He's still a real person in Zombie's film, so of course he's not totally silent at all times. Have you all forgotten his heavy breathing in the original?
If you didn't like Zombie's films for any of these reasons, that's fine. But at least admit that you prefer fantasy versions of these characters as opposed to anything resembling reality. Zombie presents Michael and the other characters as they would be in our world. In reality, would Loomis dedicate his life to following a former patient around and rating about how he was still alive, or would he just cash in on the misery of others? Should Laurie and Annie just go back to "normal" after surviving such trauma?
Admit it. You want a sanitized, fantasy-based Halloween where you can feel safe and have fun watching Michael chase teenagers around with a little kitchen knife.

No the smart idea would be to just not make this movie at all. even if its "old school" Myers, Zombie's Halloween is still too fresh on everyones mind to really see this through effectively. Any thing made in at least the next 3 years with Halloween as a title will probably fall under the same stigma..
All this article is telling us is that the whole project so far is a result of sloppy planning. Which means they WANT to rush it but can't only because of the director.. Basically its another Weinstein mess..
Posted by: Kris Avalon on September 30, 2009 at 15:23:45
Why didn't they use the rushed line on Halloween 2, which clearly felt that way once I saw Zombie's sequel. Take your time and come up with an interesting concept, as well as cool kills to pull of the #D effects, instead of being so quick to rush a film to production. My Bloody Valentine was a good movie. take your time with this one. Halloween 2010 is a long ways from now

Listen, if they are smart, they will treat Zombie's movies like a "movie" within a movie, almost like Scream did with the Stab Movies..Michael's motivation for killing should be his family if if Jamie Lee's Laurie truly is dead, then continue after H20 and Resurrection with Laurie's son John. Zombies pictures can be explained in that movie as a dramatization of what happened to his mom Laurie and her friends. That easily takes Zombie's white trash take on Halloween out of the mythology..John Carpenter must be laughing his ass off.

Am I the only person who liked Zombie's Halloween films?
The first Zombie Halloween gave the franchise a much needed kick up the ass.
Granted, the sequel could have been better....... A lot better but at least it had some balls.
Halloween 3-D? That just sounds terrible. Seems like a ****in' PG rated, seasonal sash-in to me.

@ Captain Axis
no i do not prefer a "fantasy version" of the Halloween films and i am totally up for a realistic Myers but the film HAS TO BE A GOOD ONE!!!
i was never "afraid" of Myers "with his little kitchen knives" in the old films...i thought he was freaken bad AS*. all he is now is a white trash warrior who visits walmart for all his basic needs. now all we get is hack and slash with a shaky cam...instead of a mysterious killer and films filled with atmosphere. poor direction, bad acting, an awful script, horrible cinematography, and an unnecessary backstory is what lead to Zombie's HORRIFICALLY AWFUL FILMS!!!
@ DR
no...i wouldn't want a shot for shot remake. instead, i would like a GOOD Myers film. if you try to remake Carpenter's film you will fail...miserably...and Zombie proved this with his first outing. if he was a true fan of the franchise...then he should have known to stay the hel* away from it and just create an entirely new film from the get go that just utilized Myers and the bloodline as a plot device.
why is this so hard for HOLLYWOOD TO UNDERSTAND!!!! STOP FUC*ING AROUND WITH FILMS AND FRANCHISES PEOPLE LOVE!!!
it is easy to see how the Saw films, the awful American made Japanese inspired horror films, Zombie's first two flicks, and the Scream franchise have warped people's ideas as to what makes a good horror film anymore. graphic violence doesnt make up for a bad script, bad acting, and bad direction.

Halloween 2 was rob's verison and vision of Halloween not John Carpenters, when are you morons going to finally figure this out. Halloween 2 was a great slash a thon for me. It's a movie not a masterpiece but I still enjoyed it for Zombie's Vision not Carpenters, Please stop hating because none of you stupid haters could do any better and can never ever make a movie as great as Rob Zombie does. Make a movie get great reviews win a Acadamy award and then open your freaking mouths, so all u haters until then shut the f**k up already your making me freaking sick.
Posted by: Ishmael on September 30, 2009 at 21:26:05
@ Paul
why should someone have to win an academy award to be considered a great film maker. by your own post...zombie shouldnt be making films then...last time i checked...he hasn't received an academy award for directing...and he NEVER WILL.
zombie should have stuck with a music career or continue to make his "version" of white trash horror.
if i had an "in" with the film industry i would love to be a film director. i didn't realize being a music performer with no training in acting or directing gives you an automatic pass to create films. that should open the door for me then. as a professional actor and director in theatre...it should be easier for me to cross over than a music performer...because i understand the craft.
