Update: Rambo V Heading into Creature Territory?

Source:AICN
September 8, 2009

Update: Here's the lowdown from our pals at ComingSoon.net!

I loved Rambo. Bloody. Over-the-top. Absolutely ridiculous. And a great return for the character. Now Sylvester

Stallone is moving forward with Rambo V and the main man has dropped AICN a line to give the fellas there an idea of what's to come.

Set in the Pacific Northwest, the film finds Rambo up against a government experiment - an elite soldier whose savage side has been heightened. More details, along with a voice mail from Stallone, can be found here.

What do you think of this turn? Supernatural elements might be downplayed by judging by the promo art that's being used for the project (below), we might have something to look forward to.

Yes, and yes! Make it happen!

Thats not even the promo art for Rambo 5. thats the promo for Rambo 4 dvd. Also what the hell is the wolf on it for? the characters are not going to be shape shifters, theyre going to be really angry soldiers. that promo was made by some idiot that has no clue what Rambo 5 is going to be about...

Clearly they don't have any promotional photos of Stallone from 5 since it hasn't been shot yet, so it's not unusual for the company to use other imagery from the films to drum up interest.

Another Rambo? Seriously? Jeez.

And the following year, Rocky Balboa will take on the ghost of Mike Tyson's boxing career.

ok I'm game, sounds awsome to me actually. Just wish they could have done this when he was younger. I mean we havent seen anyone on his level yet. so seeing a new "supersoldier" would be awsome. Hope he wins by some sort of flashback to an experience he had to one of the other movies that lets him

I would watch Rambo destroy an alien fleet with a bowie knife! Go for it SLY!

nah...don't like the idea. ok, adapt the book but don't make it a Rambo movie. Rambo is a prime soldier with deadly skills in ambush combat and all but come on! I would rather see the slave trade thingy then this. keep it real and plausible. The Rambo stories where always based on true world crisis. why change a winning strategy?

The drug trafficker Mexico premise sounds better, barely. This sounds like crap. Make another Rocky. The last one was well received, so take that series in a new direction.

I'm in.

I love all the Rambo movies. He's the best action character ever.

Fake story. He's already confirmed the Mexico storyline, that was origianlly supposed to be for part 4.

So, no drug traffickers or kidnappers in Mexico, to rescue a young girl? He should make Rambo 5 like it was first announced and make the Hunt it's own movie. He has had the rights for 10 years to that book, he could make more money doing 2 movies instead of combining them. Well, we'll see...
