July 17, 2009

Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton are going to script Saw 7 for Twisted Pictures. The announcement comes a few months before Saw 6, directed by Kevin Greutert, opens on October 23. Dunstan and Melton have been on the lucrative franchise since part 4. Since then, they penned two more Feast sequels for Dimension and collaborated on the upcoming The Collector which Dunstan directed. Saw 7 will hit in October of 2010.

Alright I thought that six was gonna be the grand finally to the whole story. Now I love the movies and am not against a 7th but six better be darn interesting for me to continue. I am waiting to see how all of this comes together.

I think this series will end at Saw X...i stopped watching after the third one, that was a good end to what should have been a trilogy.

Give it up already, but when you make $75 millions profit off of every one you see why they come making them.

i don't see why people are so against horror movies have lots of sequals nowadays i mean look at jason and freddy there were tons of them. all the same ****. they are great don't get me wrong but i mean all you need for a good jason movie is drugs, sex, boobs and killing. movies like that don't need story line. yes saw does need story and they have all been great but comeon. all you who sit and ***** about how you hated all but the first one...it's easy if you hate them don't go watch them. if you really did hate the movies that much you would bother going to see them year after year or looking at post about the new ones.

Originally when the Saw movies startet, the creators or Lionsgate had stated that they would like to, and had a plan for the movies to go all the way to 10 movies, like the original horror classics like "Nightmare" or "Friday"

Ok this getting ridiculous. The 1st SAW was a fantastc American Giallo but the series has contuned to go downhill. Plus with the SAW Clone The Collector that they will surly try to turn into another franchise. I have had my fill. Come on Hollywood let's more on. ANd not in the Scream direction.

if it's Halloween....it MUST be Saw!

I dig the Saw films and hope they keep pumping them out every Halloween.

At least the Saw movies make you think. You already know who the "killer" is, it's just a matter of survival. I'd rather watch 100 of these movies than the other crap they keep putting out. My advice: Always, LISTEN to Jigsaw.

This is pretty cool. Hopefully they reach their goal of 10.

I am a fan of the saw movies, but for crying out loud, the 6th one isnt even out yet!!! Normally,u wait until u see the box office results.

Man will there be a SAW 30 when im in my 60's. Bad feeling they are going to make this series into the next james bond franchise(20 something movies in a row).

Dont get me wrong I am excited they are making more but I don't know how many more stories they can do with this series. He died in the third one, showed up in flashbacks in the 4 and 5......unless he has a brother, a long lost daughter/son, or his ex fiancee starts the killing I don't ****ing know.

i read another article about this, and supposedly they have the storylines for 8 and 9 planned out, with 9 being the ending.

correct me if im wrong, but i think thats the first time i had ever heard of the writers/directors/crew even MENTIONING a possible ending. there you go guys.

now you know. so when 8 comes out, dont complain, you know its going to happen now.

The series died at 3.

Posted by: Calum on July 18, 2009 at 05:29:18

Can I direct it?

Seriously I could inject this with awesomeness and besides letting a fan direct it they've pretty much done everything else to **** the series up why not go out with a bang

When the studio is done making all of these sequels it will be time to remake the original and start another series. It will never end.

The question will be: who will be the new apprentice after Hoffman bites the dust to carry them to a satisying end?

Coming to the big screen on October 31, 2035: Saw 32

Saw 7(2010)- This time he's dead

Saw 8(2011)- No. This time he's dead.

Saw 9(2012)- We promise he's dead this time.

Saw 10(2013)- Okay for real he's dead.

Saw 11(2014)- This is the last one he is dead.

Saw 12(2015)- JIgsaw died, I swear!

Saw 13(2016)- I mean it this time.

Then in 2020 there will be a remake.

What i am trying to get to is these movies are the same with differerent traps and they got old around number 4.

What Leigh Whannel and James Wan came up with for a horror film was unique. They had an amazing script and got great actors (Cary Elwes, Danny Glover, Michael Emerson). Their film was more about the psychological aspect than the horror aspect.

Whatever happended to that? I see no traces of the original in these movies. They need to disasociate themselves from the first Saw, because they dishonor it.

Saw was about the suspense and story, not the gore and torture.

I wouldn't mind all the Saw movies because I am a fan, but I think it would be better not to do them year after year. I hear people complaining about it every year, that they shouldn't be coming out back-2-back. And soon they will notice the box office drop if they keep doing what the're doing. I still enjoy the Saw franchise, but they are starting to get alittle boring, and are going constantly down hill. #1 the best, #2 great, #3 good, #4 ok, #5 bad(the worst sofar) I guess we'll see what 6 has in store...

Posted by: CHARLESLEERAY on July 18, 2009 at 16:58:57

When will this series just go ahead and DIE?!

Posted by: JPNIU on July 18, 2009 at 18:07:58

None of them are that good, imho. Great idea for a horror series, but the execution (pun intended) just hasn't been there, even from the beginning. Yet, people keep going to see them. I agree with a previous post; they have systematically gotten much worse, especially with each ending being Jigsaw saying "This is your REAL test...no, well, actually THIS is your real test...ok, seriously, this test and possibly the test after that....sorry, just ONE more test.....
Give it up already!
