"Body horror" is a term lovingly bandied about when talking about the works of David Cronenberg, or in some instances, Frank Henenlotter. Now a trio of sick minds are making it their own in Teratoma, a joint production of JAZ Films and Neo Art & Logic.

Taking its name from the medical condition in which a subject forms a large tumor, the film is going to be directed by Ryuhei Kitamura (Midnight Meat Train). He'll be working from a script by Jim Agnew and Sean Keller, the writers behind Dario Argento's Giallo. They also did a rewrite on John Carpenter's upcoming thriller The Ward.

Jeremy Wall is producing on behalf of JAZ Films (The Objective) and Neo Art & Logic's Joel Soisson and Aaron Ockman. "Teratoma is The Fly meets Rosemary's Baby," says Soisson.

Sounds like it's going to be a sick time. Knowing Kitamura, he'll keep the red stuff vibrant and flowing thick.
