EXCL: Fox Exploring Direct-to-DVD Mirrors 2

Sources tell ShockTillYouDrop.com this afternoon that 20th Century Fox is developing Mirrors 2, a follow-up to last year's late-summer horror film Mirrors. It will be geared for the direct-to-DVD market, similar to Fox's Joy Ride and Wrong Turn series, so you can probably rule out Kiefer Sutherland or director Alexandre Aja returning. Fox is looking at a 2010 release for Mirrors 2.

Aja's Mirrors grossed over $70 million worldwide.

And speaking of Wrong Turn, expect the third entry in the series, Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead, to premiere on DVD October 20th. Star Janet Montgomery (interview) finds herself running with escaped convicts and defending herself from mutant inbred killers. Cover art to come.

i'm definitely getting WT3 (i LOVE the 1st movie and LIKED the 2nd one). but a MIRRORS 2?...........

i thought the first wrong turn sucked..unoriginal and a complete rip off of about 15 movies..i dont know why but i liked the 2nd one...third might be alright as long as expectations are set low..liked mirrors but dont think ill check out mirrors 2

Here's hoping Mirrors 2 will have more than two deaths in the movie. Buuuuut... still not gonna see it.

Please, no. "Mirrors" was bad enough. Just put two between the eyes and let the movie die in peace.

Wrong Turn. I like 1 while 2 was weak. 3 maybe? Even Aja couldn't make Mirrors work. Mirrors 2. What's the point? Even with filmmakers [it's all about money mindset]a straight to DVD release is just a bad idea.

Hollywoods desperation to make a good horror movie continues to be self defeating.

Mirrors was ok in the suspense department, I just expected more in the death department. A direct to video sequel could deliver more blood. Worth checking out.
