Updated Final Destination One-Sheet

Source:ShockTillYouDrop.com
June 15, 2009

So there's a new one-sheet floating around the Internet for The Final Destination.

It says you can experience it in 3D on August 28th - the release date that has been locked for two months now. Some questioned if it was coming out then - positioning it against Rob Zombie's Halloween 2. And yes, it is. Neither party is going to budge. Why?

Well, New Line has already made their arrangements with the theaters that carry the 3-D projection system. And the Weinsteins found success with the first Halloween on the same date two years ago. Do you think the brothers are going to make way for the competition? No way. I've heard from reps in both camps and there is a modicum of concern, but both are confident they'll find their respective audience that weekend.

Sorry, but I highly believe H2 is gonna kick TFD's azz. Theres no doudt in my mind. Both movies will do good, but really? I think their just confident b/c of the 3D aspect. But I dont think it will work. We'll see when the time gets here, and I will be suppoting both movies. But I will be supporting H2 for opening weekend :D

So wat changed I am goin with both parties tht week end don't really need anyone bckin down now

I'm not going to lie, I fully intend on paying to see 'The Final Destination' and then just movie hopping to H2 right afterwards. I think a lot of people might actually do that, paying to see TFD in order to get the glasses (even though it will be more expensive to see) and then just movie hopping to see H2 for free.

ORLANDO is right. For the most part 3D movies have not been #1 at the box offices consistantly because the 3D costs more than a regular movie.

Halloween 2 side all the way for me!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be seeing The Final Destination. Not because it, or any of the Final Destination movies, are really "good," but because they're a helluva a lot of fun. And in 3D, too? I'm so there for that carnage.

H2, on the other hand, looks like it could go either way. It's still stupid to try and explain away Michale's issues. He's just supposed to be evil, not a victim of bullies, a neglectful, abusive stepfather, a stripper mother, a slutty sister, and the result of not going trick-or-treating on Halloween. He's just supposed to be evil...for no reason at all. Still, the first movie was passable as a horror movie (at least the last 20 minutes were), but I really wish Rob Zombie could have resisted putting his wife in the sequel, as the sequences with her ghost look ****ing terrible.

Considering the Weinsteins incredible successes of late (they couldn't even find a way to make OUTLANDER a hit?) they should move out of this date. They have much more to lose in a head to head competition with another horror film, (Not that New Line has shown much love for the genre lately either).

Still, if we learned anything over the years, a movie can open big on almost any weekend now (look at some of the huge January releases we've had). And putting a film called HALLOWEEN out closer to say.... um... Halloween, just might be a better idea. Just avoid the SAW 6 date and it will do fine.

LOL!!!

Rob Zombie sucks ass and so did Halloween. The same will be said for his newest ****fest, Halloween 2.

Pathetic idiot.

The Final Destination movies are a fun ride. I look forward to the new installment.

Sincerely, kiss my ass.

I think each film will pull in its own audience. Zombie will no doubt have his crowd, but I think there are more than enough people out there (like myself) who absolutely hated the first film and will never see the sequel even out of curiosity. Now, the Final Destination films have never been that good in my book, but I'm down for seeing one in 3D. If it's anything like the 3D in My Bloody Valentine it should be a fun time. So if it's a choice between seeing an average film in 3D or the further raping of my former favorite slasher series, I know where I'll be on the 28th. FU Rob.

I really did not like the halloween remake, and agree with the poster above that mike is just evil for no reason at all, he's just a f'n demon. i LOVE the halloween movies (all of them up to H20) and it is just pointless to try and remake a classic like halloween becuase it will never ever be as good as the original, so why do it? maybe like 10 years after the last one is released or something.....I just really don't like robs directing. Give any 15 year old a pen and tell them to write a script with as many cuss words and stuff as you can in and they would be able to write a rob zombie movie. Ahh, so i will not be seeing H2. When i went to see h1 the projector broke half way through the movie and i was glad it did becuase i got my money back.

**** "The Final Destination", man! It's always the same! "Oh, I had a vision we're all gonna die! Everybody run from Death!" At least Zombie is intelligent and talented enough to pump fresh blood into a fading franchise (H20 was brilliant, but those who thought "Ressurrection" was a good movie should have their life threatened by Mikey himself). I'm all for H2 on August 28th; hell, since it comes out on my mom's birthday, she's demanding I take her to it. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM! Let the screaming begin...

Posted by: Orlando on June 16, 2009 at 11:39:32

Im sick of people using "its a remake" and "it will never be as good as the original" excuse bs. Grow the **** up already. If you didnt like the remake fine. If you dont like Rob Zombie fine. But dont try to pull that remake crap out. And I agree with Dustin Miller. The only thing different about this FD is that its in 3D. Other than that its the same as the others. And just b/c its in 3D, I dont think that just seals the deal, that it will be great. I still will see, but I still follow my first comment.

That Means I Have Photo ID along to see both Films in august

This movie looks A LOT better than the 3rd one. I'm gonna see it opening weekend for sure. Besides the 3rd movie, which just scraped by as being OK, the Final Destination Franchise is a lot of fun. Better than the SAW franchise IMO (which has taken a nose dive after part 2).

Posted by: pleasenomore on June 16, 2009 at 12:35:58

Well to state a fact, IT WAS A REMAKE! but i will forget that fact and just say that it was a crappy movie, not scary or suspensful in any way, and i'm glad i got my money back. I've seen all of Rob's films and the guy just isn't a good director. i guess like everything else he has the people who like his style and don't like his style. I'll stick with the old Halloweens.....

Posted by: Derek on June 16, 2009 at 12:36:24

Haha, my god. Have fun with your crappy trilogy's fanboys. Betcha lookin forward to a new Scream Trilogy too? Two of the worst franchises ever.

Sincerely, LAWL

The lesser of two evils for me will be watching Final destination. I'll wait to see H2 on Chiller theater a few years from now. I may or may not Tivo it. John carpenter is king. Rob "lick my knob" zombie needs to retire from film making. Roger cormen had better skills than you.
