J-Horror Tale Unravels on Toilet Paper

Source:Associated Press

The latest horror story from the author behind "Ringu," "Dream Cruise" and "Dark Water" won't be found in Japanese book stores next month. Instead it will be told on a roll of toilet paper.

Koji Suzuki's nine-chapter novella "Drop" - a thriller set in a public restroom - takes up about three feet of Hayashi Paper-printed toilet paper.

A roll is going for 210 yen, just a bit over two bucks. We're sure, somewhere, there's a Hollywood studio exec looking into the American screen rights now.

Hi. I read about this in our local newspaper. I would like to give some for fun to my Japanese friends. I went to the No 1 Specialty Japanese Store in the United States:
Marukai. They had not heard of it (though I just spoke to two very nice clerks). There are many of these stores in the US. Look on the web. Would you like me to be a sales rep for a few in this area? I live in Orange County, Ca near some other major counties. In my local phone book, at the Marukai Market closest to my home, there is also a listing for Marukai Corporation at that same address: 2975 Harbor Boulevard, Costa Mesa, Ca 92626, USA. The Corporation phone numbers are: 714 437 0917 and 714 751 8433. And do they carry your other publications?
