Fango WoH '09: Another Carpenter Remake on the Way

At this rate, Hollywood is going to have nothing left from John Carpenter's history to remake.

Chris Fisher, director of the upcoming sequel S. Darko, told audiences at Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors that he's remaking the Carpenter-written 1978 film The Eyes of Laura Mars. A first draft is complete and shooting is expected to begin this fall.

On the casting front, Fisher said he would love to cast Darko co-star Briana Evigan as Mars. As long as she was willing to do nudity.

Directed by Irvin Kershner, the original film starred Faye Dunaway as a photographer who can see what a killer sees when he commits acts of murder.

Not a bad movie. I'd rather they remake that than my favorite Carpenter film [besides his The Thing remake] "In the Mouth of Madness".

yeah, I was there. She said maybe. She's hot, and talented, but I don't think she's a strong enough actress for this role... just my thoughts.

I hope they don't touch big trouble or they live!!! Both are amazing movies!! I've also heard they are remaking escape from new york.

Whew! For a second there I thought BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA was going to get remade. Dodged that bullet...for now!

Why ?! For I vividly the original film when it played theaters in 1978 and every film critic on the planet savagely trashed it,for I'm sure they'll really love hearing that the new Laura Mars has nude scenest his time(a far cry from Faye Dunaway's Miss Mars[who stayed coservatively clothed]).

Irvin Kershner directed the film, so I don't consider that a re-make of a Carpenter film.

Don't give them the idea about remaking 'Big Trouble...' Love that movie. I'd hate to see them fu ck up a remake by making it ' darker and edgier'
