Night of the Creeps, DVD, This October

Source:Dead Pit
April 3, 2009

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is finally getting around to a special edition DVD of Night of the Creeps. Go ahead, read that sentence again. It's true.

Red Shirt Pictures' Michael Felsher - who has produced a good deal of terrific genre discs - is spearheading the special features. Here's what he had to tell Dead Pit Radio: "It is coming out officially for the first time ever. Fred Dekker is already working on it, It's going to be the director's cut with the original ending. We're going to go balls to the wall with the special features on it...I talked to Sony today its official, we're going ahead and its coming out in October! It's officially In production...and moving forward, its coming!"

Good God. I thought the day would never come.

Night of the Creeps, directed by Dekker in '86, stars Tom "Thrill Me" Atkins and features a slew of alien slugs that infect their hosts and turn them into zombies.

While I won't say this is Earth shattering "balls to the walls" news, I will say this made my day! I remember watching this movie when I was a kid (25 now) and actually being freaked out. I remember thinking back then that anything with Tom Adkins was scarier than hell! lol

Great news!

Is the original ending the ending with the spaceship flying over the cemetary looking for slugs, or the one with the zombie dog? I like the spaceship ending the best.

Posted by: N. Feratu on April 3, 2009 at 17:03:28

Original ending is with the spaceship over the cemetary. Studio suggested the dog ending because they wanted one-last scare. Studios... Jesus....

On another note, when Slither came out and I saw the trailer, I thought it was a Night of the Creeps remake. I love Night of the Creeps, and Slither.

I wish they would do a sequel for Slither, especially with what happened after the credits...

The ship over the cemetary was the alternate ending? Thats the only one i've seen.
