Fred Durst is Psycho About New Horror Film

Source:The Hollywood Reporter, J. Warner
March 25, 2009

Buried in a THR column yesterday, it was revealed Fred Durst (frontman of Limp Bizkit) is going to cut his teeth on the horror genre. He'll sit in the director's chair for a film entitled Psycho Killer written by Andrew Kevin Walker.

"It's not a throwaway slasher genre film," he says. "It's a very smart, really compelling story about a serial killer on a mission for Satan. It's really interesting and the way it's written - it's so unique. Andy is an incredible writer. It looks like we're going to go into pre-production around August."

Durst is currently out promoting the release of The Education of Charlie Banks, a drama starring Jesse Eisenberg, Jason Ritter and Chris Marquette. It opens in limited release via Anchor Bay Entertainment this Friday. Andrew Kevin Walker penned Se7e, Sleepy Hollow and this November's The Wolfman.

Please Fred, just go way... Just go the f**k away!!! How about just ruining one artistic expression in your lifetime instead of trying for two.

Fred Durst has to be the most pretentious piece of **** of the last twenty years. He's clearly bored these days since he failed at life the first time and needs to find something new to suck at. The day he dies I'm throwing a huge party.

give him a break, he's doing it for the nookie

Thumbs up for Andrew Kevin Walker, I feel bad for the hard work he put into that script for Fred Durst to **** it up!

so in REAL news, the dude actually isnt a bad director. not one of the greats and never will be, but he surely doesnt **** up movies like he does music. so give the dude a break.

...and wes borland is a musical genius.

I can't wait until Scott Stapp makes a movie! Too hardcore

Hmm, might check it out.

Fred's music career is over. But he can direct. We'll see.

Hope its not just another low budget film that will get lost in the shuffle.

Ok, where the hell have I been? When did Fred Durst become a movie director, and is Limp Bizkit honest to God really still around? LOL

Posted by: gneah3 on March 25, 2009 at 14:09:48

i'll give it a whirl since the writer did Seven and 8mm

"cut his teeth on the horror genre"....

really?

so his past acting efforts in the horror genre is ignored here, or?

Posted by: ico on March 25, 2009 at 15:34:50

Walker is a good writer but the Wolfman is going to suck.

Posted by: Winchester on March 25, 2009 at 15:47:00

...or, "kim," the article's focus is strictly about his directing career and that's what they meant.

Posted by: madness of mando on March 25, 2009 at 15:49:05

I'll see this, only because Walker is my favorite screenwriter of all time... But, If I can get the script online then I'll just read it and not see it...

Then again, never say never.

man that guy hasn't made any new music, or even directed a video for over ages. Now this man that guy should be forgotten.

I thought that Fred recently reunited with Wes Borland(for the second time)and that they were working on both a new Limp Bizkit album and(SIGNIFICANT OTHER line-up reunion)tour, for where would Fred find all of the free time to direct this film in-between his plans to resurrect the original Limp Bizkit line-up ?.

Wolf Man is going to be good.

*sigh*

Fred Durst just can't seem to go away.

How about they make a snuff film called "Kill Fred Durst" and really kill him off?

I'd pay to see that
