Resident Evil Prequel at Wildstorm

Source:Wildstorm
January 2, 2009

The Resident Evil franchise continues its spread across various geek mediums. It makes its return to comic books this March when Wildstorm releases a prequel to the upcoming Resident Evil 5 game. I say "return" because, in the late '90s, Wildstorm published "The Official Comic Magazine" which had a lifespan of five issues and served as an anthology series. There were actually some solid stories that expanded the RE universe; the magazine was sadly cut short just as it was hitting its stride. Later, Wildstorm published Resident Evil: Code Veronica and Resident Evil: Fire and Ice.

Wildstorm's second go at the title is written by Rick Sanchez and features art by Kevin Sharpe and Jim Clark. This will be a six-part series that delves into what led Chris Redfield to Africa (as seen in the new game) and the dark burden that haunts him.

Resident Evil #1 hits stands March 11th.

Love this game series. I just don't like how the're moving away from "Zombies" and into "Infected". In the first few games they were T virus ZOMBIES. I liked that I was fighting the "undead". Capcom seems to be moving away from that. It's a subtile difference, I know, but I would still rather shoot Zombies then infected people.

Man the movies were just awful. I agree with ryan if they would have started with the first game and stuck with it. It would be awsome or if they went with resident evil zero that was an awsome game as well

im glad they are evolving the story into Las Plagas istead of zombies. can only shoot so many slow moving zombies before its gets boring. the las plagas give them a chance to show us a more agressive foe.

i prefer playing the game, then following the story.

i love the games, but the movies sucked i wonder when they will do a movie more like resident evil one and have chris redfield, jill vallentine, barry burton, rebecca chambers, and albert wesker in it. it would make so much money and fans of the game and movies would go for it. but i think that they are to dumb to realize this.

Ryan said it right, the game was scarey and you actualy jumped in a lot of parts. I don't know why they made the movie the way they did when they had a perfect story in front of them to follow. It would be a classic that you would want to watch again. I love the games and the movies are like every other hollywood movie just wish they would have made it like the game and not a whole new script.....

"the las plagas give them a chance to show us a more agressive foe."

Sure you've played a Resident Evil game before? Crimson Heads, Hunters, Tyrants, and Bandersnatches were the bane of every Resident Evil game. Forget the sissy chainsaw guy in RE4, Hunters are far more frightening then a guy with a chainsaw. RE4 was a piece of garbage. The zombies stunk, but the monsters I listed made the previous RE games far better than 4 could ever hope to be.
