Haha, that was funny. That would be a hard thing to do. There might be hope for this after all :) But wheres the girl who won scream queens. I was expecting to see her in this clip. Wonder how big her role is...

Looks very cool, very reminiscent of Jeff's game in III. Can't wait to see this one.

was there a trailer or is this it?
Posted by: -EC- on July 23, 2009 at 15:10:59
That was awesome. Although, I thought the point of Jigsaw's games was for everyone to get a chance to redeem their lives?.... Why would 2 live and 4 die with no chance?....
Posted by: Hurmoth on July 23, 2009 at 15:29:38
@-EC-: It isn't a game from John Kramer, but Detective Hoffman IMO. This doesn't follow John's philosophy and therefore, I don't believe this is John's work.

well, the continuity based answert would be "because this isn't jigsaw anymore, but a copycat killer/former assistant, who may not have the same moral code" the real answer is because these movies long since gave up any notion of sense or purpose, and are now about the most interesting way to kill as many people as possible in 90 minutes.

I think it's interesting to think of the possiblity that the good Doctor from the first movie may indeed be taking over as Jigsaw...that these people deal with HEALTHcare...probably just looking way too much into it.

On top of it coming "full circle"...again...probably reading too much into it...

Looks amazing. I needed some confirmation for a long time that a 6th installment would be worth it and if any other clips released in the coming weeks keep that momentum, then i will personally go to the movie theater and see the whole film at the earliest time possible.:-) I'm a little suprised actually that it's still Tobin's voice on the tv messages. I would've thought by now; especially since by the end of 5 the tape messages now had Hoffman's Jigsaw rendition. Guess John Kramer did a LOT of voice recording before kicking it way back in 3. No wonder by then, his voice was so hoarse lol.

"Unofficially," 5 established that when he wants to, Hoffman (with the help of tape) can impersonate John Kramer's voice perfectly. That may be the case here.
Or it could just be a way of keeping Tobin involved, and I'm fine with that...

I'm loving the clip. A word about a question posed: If people are supposed to get a chance, why do four have to die and only two live?
* Possible Spoiler (if you haven't seen the Original "Saw") *
Just wanted to point out that the person being tested is William -not the people on the carousel. The point of the game is to teach a lesson to the person being tested. Remember Amanda's test in "Saw"? She had to cut a guys stomach open to get a key - and the man was sedated, not dead. So people have had to kill in order to get through a test before. Plus, it's only a clip. I'd bet it will have a logical place in the series continuity when seen in the proper context.
Also watched the highly enjoyable teaser trailer earlier tonight. So far, everything about this one has me psyched. Looking forward to October.
And to the haters I send the same message I send online every year on various websites: If you don't like the films, don't watch them. None of us fans will miss you in the theater. :)

Oh wow! You see these in the theater? That's... Really? Sure this one might surprise me but the others got worse and worse as they went along and that's with the first one starting at, Bleh. I didn't see any of them in the theaters thank goodness. That would have required me getting my money back. The problem with these movies is the people who LOVE them are people who scare me. All these movies are is really stupid and hole filled plot wrapped around people getting killed in gory ways. Now I love my gore and blood in guts but not innocent people getting ripped up.
Sure innocent people die in real life, blah, blah, blah. Sure these people are technically not innocent by Saw standards. They ran red lights or shook soda machines to get free drinks. The thing that bothers me is that this guy is supposedly sick and dying but is still alive, totally healthy beyond a convenient cough, and able to somehow kidnap and kill all these people and never leave a trace of evidence behind that the cops portrayed can't find.
He's not a serial killer. He's a Super Villain. He has the super strength to kidnap everyone and intelligence to out think everyone. He has minions who do some of his dirty work. He has the ability to resist disease. He also can lay still in an awkward postion for hours on end and get up and literally just "Shake it Off" then go on to killing.
Thankfully though Cinemascribe won't miss me in theaters.

Have you ever actually seen a "Saw" film? Let's go over how inaccurate your post is.
1)John Kramer hasn't been in the present day storyline since part III, when he died. His game was set up to continue after his death with the assistance of his apprentice. Jigsaw himself is no longer doing anything.
2) He doesn't have super strength..as mentioned, he has apprentices. He has since the very beginning. Depending upon the rate at which cancer progresses in an individual patient, people who suffer from the disease can remain functional for a while. It's always been implied that Kramer began his games not long after his diagnosis. As of Saw III -where he was so "totally healthy" that he needed some of the cuff brain surgery, had a seizure and was bed-ridden the entire film - he was no longer able to physically engage in them and that's why he relied on Amanda and Hoffman. One of them failed him,the other assumed the Jigsaw mantle and carried on John's work.
3)Most of the people in these traps are pretty far from innocent. That comment about soda machines and red lights was so lame I laughed out loud. Try pedophilia, prostitution, drug addiction. etc etc. As it happens I don't enjoy seeing people torn to shreds as you put it. I like the fact that there is an ongoing storyline and the audience is required to pay attention to follow it. The "holes" in the plot are explained in successive chapters.
Not only do you have no apparent knowledge of what actually goes on in this series, your comment about blood and gore is hypocritical as well. You like blood and gore, but don't want to see innocent people torn to shreds? Right..because all of the victims in horror films are squeaky clean and virtuous.
Damn right I won't miss you in theaters. Then again, I wouldn't be looking for you in the first place. :)
