AFM '08: Studio Canal Picks Up Eli Roth Produced Cotton

StudioCanal has acquired Cotton, a horror film in the vein of Cloverfield and Blair Witch Project that was directed by Huck Botko and Andrew Gurland.

Eli Roth will produce for Strike Entertainment.

According to Variety, the story concerns an evangelical minister who turns against religion and decides to participate in a documentary in which he practices his last exorcism.

If done right, this can be a really effective movie that could scare the crap out of people like The Exorcist did when it came out.

If done poorly, well, it will be at the cheap seats in no time and forgotten by all as well.
