Here's an update on an exclusive news item we brought to you at the beginning of the year (here).

Spanish helmer Daniel Calparsoro (The Absent) is set to direct Burst based on a script by Gary Dauberman (Blood Monkey). Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert's Ghost House Pictures is producing.

The plot crunch:

A young woman running from her troubles finds herself stranded at a lodge with a group of strangers. One after another, they inexplicably begin to burst into pieces. Shock quickly descends into paranoia as nobody knows who to trust. And as the mystery unravels, the survivors realize that what's causing this unstoppable phenomenon is bigger and more disturbing than anyone could have ever imagined.
