AFM '08: 30 Days of Night Sequel Confirmed

Source: ShockTillYouDrop.com
November 5, 2008

Mandate International is selling the sequel to 30 Days of Night at the American Film Market.

The Ghost House Pictures project will be written by the first film's co-writer and graphic novel creator Steve Niles, as well as Ghost House's Ben Ketai.

In the follow-up, Stella Oleson (played by Melissa George in the first pic) seeks revenge on the blood-thirsty vampires that destroyed her sleepy Alaskan town.

The original was directed by David Slade and co-starred Josh Hartnett and Danny Huston.

Was Stella in Dark Days or is this story going to be made up for the movie? Or wait was she in Return to Barrow?

Nuts to this. Leave it alone and as is. First film was great, no sequel necessary (or wanted).

Yeah, Ruttle. You don't want a sequel, so that means that everyone else agrees with you and doesn't want to see such a great story continued. F*** off.

I sorta wish they'd skip "Dark Days" as a sequel, considering how many books there are to choose from. With the way the vampires were done in the movie, not alot of the parts of "Dark Days" will work well. Like the very opening sequence in the convention hall, for instance.

"Return To Barrow" is not only a better story, it would keep the chilling atmosphere of the first movie. Los Angeles isn't going to keep the same tone. Glad their doing this though, the first was one of my favorite movies last year.

Excellent! Great comic series and sounds like they are continuing with the same storyline for the movies. Looking forward to it.

Ugh.. The vampires in that movie were so poorly done. I couldn't stop laughing when they were sitting around like a pack of dogs eating people.

I found the first one to be too slow.

30 days of night was ****ing laughable. The vampires looked retarded. Josh Hartnet WAS retarded. Was it really necessary to have have him say "we have to move" 4 or 5 times? SUCKED! AWFUL! everything in that movie was done better in another movie.

Guy turns into vampire and fights vampires? LOSTBOYS

Vampire we (are supposed to) care about burns up at dawn?
BLADE II

**** this movie and the ****ty acting that will surely follow in the sequel.

Forget it - if Josh Hartnett isn't going to be in it!

i just hope everybody come back for it, and that if the principle cast return, then the ****ing, dumb**** produceers -- sam rami can be a bit of a dumb**** too... at times -- do not make a straight-to-dvd sequel, otherwise, I'll stick to the books and increase my hatred for hollywood and hope that their wearing flacjackets cos I'll be bringing a shotgun to them, and i want a fight when I get there
