Whiteout Happens in September

Starring Kate Beckinsale, Gabriel Macht

Update: We’ve been informed associate producer Ethan Erwin recently revealed at a Moonlight-related event that Whiteout may not see a release until 2009. A conflicting report from our news below which came to us internally from the studio. As release dates are always sketchy we’ll just have to wait for official word to come in.

Whiteout, a murder mystery based on Greg Rucka’s graphic novel of the same name, is blowing into theaters this fall. Sources tell that Warner Bros. is penciling in a September 19th release date for the the Dark Castle-produced film. It’s a comfy spot right now booked for freaky family fare like Igor and Neil LaBute-directed “Sam Jackson’s a crazy neighbor” flick Lakeview Terrace. If this changes, we’ll let you know.

Directed by Dominic Sena, Whiteout stars Kate Beckinsale as a U.S. Marshall investigating the first murder in Antarctica. She must solve the case before the winter comes and plunges the continent into darkness. Tom Skerritt, Alex O’Loughlin and Columbus Short co-star.

Keep it here for a full set report as we near the film’s release.
