Carver producer tackles Garton novella
Producer Richard Finney has recently purchased the rights to Ray Garton's horror novella Graven Image. Finney's most recent credits include Carver and The 8th Plague.

Graven concerns a young man who purchases a bizarre crucifix in a curio shop that depicts a Christ figure looking more monstrous than serene. When he takes it home, it turns his life into a living nightmare.

"The concept is edgy and will no doubt be a bit controversial," states Finney in a press release, "but the story is brimming with an appealing mix of other elements, such as humor, despair, love and betrayal. And of course, it'll have plenty of gore"

Plans are to currently turn Graven into a franchise with shooting expected to begin at the end of the year. Director of development, Dean Loftis, and Garton are working with Finney to expand the story for the big screen.

Finney is also at work on a prequel to Carver. Shooting starts this summer.
