Jane Levy Doesn’t Know Much About Evil Dead 2

file_173231_0_evildeadredbandPure click bait article time, I’m prone to it too, but I’ll preface this with: Remember back in May when Evil Dead director Fede Alvarez said Evil Dead 2 would be made when the time was right? Well, take that into account before reading further, just so you have a sense of perspective here.

Our pals at Arrow in the Head spoke with Evil Dead remake star Jane Levy and pressed her for information about Evil Dead 2. No shocker here: She doesn’t know much. And why should she? If Alvarez says the sequel will be made when the time is right, Levy isn’t going to get many updates any time soon until something is solid gold.

Any way, here’s what Levy said:

I don’t think they’re gonna make it. I mean, they’re always coming up with a new thing- now I hear they’re making a TV show. I was like, what? [Laughs] I think they just like exciting their fans and confusing them. I honestly don’t know, but it doesn’t seem like there’s going to be an EVIL DEAD 2 anytime soon. At least, not with me in it.

So there you have it. Another case of “an actor isn’t entirely in the loop on the development of a sequel, but don’t blame her because she’s gotta say something, right?”

As for that television series she’s talking about. Here are the details on that.

This is bitter sweet. The Evil Dead remake will carry on as a proud member of the Evil Dead family. It’s like the sibling that was born years later after it’s older siblings have all grown up. I’d love to see a sequel, but I’m content with the film we were blessed with. Hail to the King.

Shock is such a cool website-its nice to see we have the director of The Evil Dead Remake here.

        Say what?

I’d love a sequel to The Evil Dead 2013. It was a great film, all things considered. I don’t hold much out for a potential series as I suspect that it will be more “Army of Darkness” than “Evil Dead”. Think Drag Me To Hell with more slap stick.

Now an Evil Dead Tv Series that is dark, brooding, bloody, scary, explores the mythology more deeply and has some black humour is something that I’d want to watch in a heartbeat. I just don’t see it happening though somehow.

It’ll probably have more in common with Zena and Hercules than with Evil Dead 2013, which is a shame. Whilst I enjoyed The Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness they were far too slap stick, especially the latter, for my tastes. Still I hope to be surprised.

It’s cute how people are still confused as to what the Evil Dead films are AND WHAT THEY’RE EVEN CALLED.

Guess we are never going to see the nc17 cut . Would have loved to have seen the unedited version

There’s supposedly a scene where after Mia gets tree raped in the woods she’s walking down the road with blood spewing out of her vag. Shame we probably won’t see it.

I could do without seeing that scene.
