The books are a mix of science fiction and a new-ish mythology of vampirism. Do not want to give anything away but there is a legend of a character who would walk through the streets at night, tapping his cane, and attracting children by throwing out candy.
    Tap, tap, tap.
Good books and it sounds like FX is giving Guillermo reign to do this series just like the books. Were the books perfect, no. But they are a quick read and worth checking out before the show airs.
