Did You Catch the Romero Zombie Cameo in The Walking Dead?

The Walking Dead prequelOne of the few things that really brings me joy watching The Walking Dead is seeing how the FX team works zombie cameos into the show. Last month, we saw none other than Jack Goodman's corpse from An American Werewolf in London lurch across the screen. Tonight? We saw a zombie makeup inspired by a very familiar face from George A. Romero's Day of the Dead

Denim jacket? Gaunt face? Thinning hairline? Red flannel? Check, check and check. Eagle-eyed viewers spied this undead chap in a train tunnel. The camera favored him on a few occasions.

I did my best to get some screen shots, but here he is!

I don’t really like this show but that’s pretty cool!

The Internet is freaking out about this. But, regrettably, I missed it on the first viewing. Usually, I do.

i’m glad i didn’t imagine that. i immediately said “That looks like Bub from DAY OF THE DEAD”!!

Niccotero, who is the head of the effects company that works on The Walking Dead was an intern on the set of Day of the Dead. It was his job to apply and scoop up the pig guts.

Actually Greg Nicotero play Private Johnson in “Day of the Dead” as well as assisting Tom Savani with the special effects.

Actually I did catch that. It was when Glenn was trying to get through that tunnel. I noticed because it was the most distinctive zombie yet. I wasn’t sure where it was from, I though it was Bub, from (if I recall “Day Of The Dead”).

Sure looks like Bub to me!
