When the news of Alien: Isolation’s protagonist broke, there was one question on gamer’s lips: How is Amanda Ripley involved? Since we know nothing about her, I felt it was easy to explore that character. There was a feeling that Ripley’s daughter was untouchable. Some people asked the question “Why wouldn’t have Weyland-Yutani informed Ripley about her daughter's adventures when she awoke?”
My answer to that is simple and obvious: Why would they? The company has proven, if nothing else, to be secretive and Burke wasn’t the most forthcoming person anyway. Still the question remains: How does Amanda Ripley end up in space and with an alien? Well, Creative Assembly, developers of Alien: Isolation finally shed some light on just how that happened.
Speaking with Speaking with Kitguru, Alien: Isolation community manager, Nee N broke it down:
For those curious about cannon, Fox was involved in the game, even providing unreleased material to aid in the design of the station and vehicles. Alien: Isolation is due out late this year. Let’s keep an open mind.
