Devil’s Due Box Office Numbers Are In, What Did You Think of the Film?

Found footage horror movies seem to finally be ready to call it a day, going by the failure of Devil's Due (20th Century Fox).  The film didn't find any sort of audience, opening on Friday with $3.5 million and only grossing $8.5 million for the three-day weekend.

Fox didn't project how much it might make on Monday or for the four-day weekend, though it will probably be around the $10 million mark and end up in seventh place for the holiday weekend.

Did you catch the film over the weekend? If so, what did you think?  You can read Ryan's thoughts on the film here.  For the full box office report, click here.

Worst movie I’ve paid to see in a long time. Lazy, predictable, which in itself is everything we’ve come to expect from horror of todays generation.

  • Ruben

I don’t understand how people pay to see these haunting and possession movies when it is the same movie over and over and over again!

    • RTurek

The same way they keep paying to see slasher films or home invasion films or serial killer films. They’re all the same story, yet, we go to see them in hope that we’ll get something new.

      • Ruben

With slashers or home invasion there’s always a new element added like new creative deaths or the attire of the killer. At least you can point out differences. Possession or haunting movies there’s only so much they can do it’s the exact same.

This movie was so bad, that I would rather you spend your money on Chinese food or anything but this movie…if you want to see it…wait for it to be on Telemundo…

  • Steve

After seeing lots of bad reviews I opted not to go see it. Disappointing as I thought Radio Silence’s segment in V/H/S was the best one.
