Supernatural‘s legacy is being expanded. The hit CW series not only kicks off its ninth (!) season on October 8th, but it’s getting a spin-off series as well.
Executive producer Bob Singer spilled the beans during Comic-Con that something was brewing, but now news has broken that the CW plans to set up the spin-off tale in an episode of Supernatural next spring. The episode, serving as a pilot of sorts, will introduce new characters and pave the way for the new series.
According to TV Line the spin-off will use Chicago as a backdrop and “will explore the clashing hunter and monster cultures in the Windy City.”
No title has been revealed for the new project.
