Christa Campbell Returns to Day of the Dead Property to Produce Remake

The L.A. Times reports Lati Grobman and Christa Campbell have acquired the rights to remake George A. Romero’s Day of the Dead.  If you recall, Campbell had appeared in 2008′s Day of the Dead, which began as a remake and turned into something that deviated from the source material.

“We want to keep it as close to the Romero version as possible,” Campbell told the Times, “to make sure that his fans are happy. These are not going to be zombies climbing walls and doing back flips like in ‘World War Z.’”

Campbell Groman Films is now actively seeking a writer to tackle the Romero material.

The duo also had a hand in producing this year’s Texas Chainsaw 3D.  For more details on their deal to acquire the rights, click here.
