Goosebumps Movie Not Dead Yet, Director is Found

The film first announced for development back in 2008, Columbia Pictures may have finally found a director for their feature adaptation of R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps series. Deadline reports that Monsters vs. Aliens and Gulliver’s Travels director Rob Letterman is in talks to helm.

Screenwriters Larry Karaszewski and Scott Alexander (1408) previously worked on adapting the material before Carl Ellsworth (Disturbia) was brought on board in 2010, followed by Darren Lemke (Jack the Giant Killer) last year.

Neal Moritz is producing the film through his Original Film banner with Deborah Forte of Scholastic Entertainment.

The “Goosebumps” series have sold more than 300 million copies worldwide, second only to the “Harry Potter” series in total sales.
