We’ll be reporting on a lot of television projects going to pilot this season. The thing you have to keep in mind is that not all of them will have what it takes to become a full-fledged series. With that said, let me introduce you to Gothica (not to be confused with Halle Berry’s Gothika).
Gothica is a project at ABC that culls varioius literary characters in horror and mashes them into a drama. According to Deadline, Chris Egan and Tom Ellis are the first to be cast as Dorian Gray and Victor Frankenstein, respectively.
Egan (pictured) was seen in Resident Evil: Extinction as “Mikey.”
The site says the story “incorporates the legends of Dracula, Jekyll and Hyde, Frankenstein and Dorian Gray. In this incarnation of the story, written by Matt Lopez, Victor Frankenstein runs a hospital that also does biotech research and believes he may have a way to bring his recently deceased daughter back to life. He was once romantically involved with the show’s lead character, Grace Van Helsing.”
If Gothica takes off, we’ll let you know…
