Boy meets girl. Girl's a vampire. The two hit it off and the trouble begins. It's a formula seen many times and we're about to see it play out in Kiss of the Damned, a film really trying to go for the European horror vibe of the '60s and '70s. The poster (seen inside) reflects that, as does the music from the recently-released red band trailer.
The film, directed by Xan Cassavetes, stars Joséphine de La Baume, Milo Ventimiglia, Roxane Mesquida and Riley Keough. It tells the story of Djuna (De La Baume), a beautiful vampire who tries to resist the advances of the handsome, human screenwriter Paulo (Ventimiglia), but eventually gives in to temptation. When her troublemaker sister Mimi (Mesquida) arrives unexpectedly, Djuna’s love story is threatened and the whole vampire community becomes endangered.
Will I give the film a spin? You bet your ass. It's hitting VOD March 30th and arrives in theaters May 3rd.
