FrightPIX Horror Channel Launches on Roku, Screen Media Nabs Home Sweet Home

Because one more outlet to watch horror is always welcome…  Screen Media Ventures, owner of Popcornflix, today announced the launch of FrightPIX.

FrightPIX launches with over 100 feature-length horror films and will be adding 30 additional films each month.

Like Popcornflix, FrightPIX is ad supported and free to the viewer. The new channel boasts a wide range of horror genres, including the Creature Feature, Slasher, Splatter, Zombie, Supernatural, Creepy, Cult, Demon and Gothic categories. The company also announced the launch of a new horror label, Screen Media Darkside.

To assist with content, Screen Media Films, another division of Screen Media Ventures, LLC, has created its own horror label: Screen Media Darkside. The label will focus on the development, production and worldwide acquisition of new genre films. The label was first announced at the Toronto Film Festival in September. Since then, it has completed a number of genre acquisitions featuring quality, innovative content, such as the home-invasion slasher film Home Sweet Home and the high-school-set creepy thriller The Expelled.

“We are excited to launch a branded line of horror titles in this still quite profitable genre,” said Suzanne Blech, President of Screen Media Films. “The brand will focus on connecting with fans by releasing unique and quality genre films.”
