On the heels of news earlier this week that Emma Stone is eyeing a leading role in Guillermo del Toro's ghost story Crimson Peak comes word, via Variety, that Charlie Hunnam is up for a major part as well.

Written by Del Toro, Matthew Robbins and Lucinda Coxon, Crimson Peak is said to be a classic ghost story that also makes use of modern conventions.

Hunnam, best known for his role on Sons of Anarchy opposite del Toro regular Ron Perlman, stars in Del Toro's upcoming Pacific Rim, set for a release July 12th.

A February 2014 production start is being planned for Crimson Peak, allowing for Del Toro to head to the small screen for the pilot of The Strain, based on his own book series with Chuck Hogan.
