Okay, that headline sounds wrong. But everything about this project is so right.
Variety reports Emma Stone (Gangster Squad, Zombieland) is currently in talks to star in Guillermo del Toro’s next horror film Crimson Peak. Shooting won’t begin, however, until February 2014 since Del Toro is still finishing Pacific Rim.
But hey, at least this casting news demonstrates Del Toro is serious about making the film happen.
Del Toro has previously described Crimson Peak as a film “set at the turn of the century and it is a Gothic romance with ghosts. When I use the [gothic romance] term I use it not in the Barbara Cartland model but rather in a Bronte fashion. Dark and stormy and wind-swept.”
This is his first full-on horror film since The Devil’s Backbone.
