Anchor Bay Picks Up Mimesis: Night of the Living Dead, Sequel Already In the Works
"Mimesis." Definition? Imitation, mimicry. With that out of the way, let me introduce you to the awkwardly-titled Mimesis: Night of the Living Dead. According to The Wrap, the film was picked up by Anchor Bay for distribution.
In the film, group of horror fans find themselves unwilling participants in a nightmarish role playing game that pays homage to a classic horror film.
Guess what that film is? If you guessed a George Romero classic, you'd be right.

Sid Haig and Courtney Gains star. This is Sid's second film to carry the "Night of the Living Dead" moniker behind Night of the Living Dead 3D. In the director's seat is Doug Schulze, who also helmed Dark Fields in 2009 and Hellmaster. Oh, and according to the IMDb, Schulze is in post-production on Mimesis 2. So there's that. The sequel finds kids playing a role playing game that has them living out Nosferatu. I'm guessing as long as there are films in public domain, the Mimesis series will live on.
