When ShockTillYouDrop.com ran into Guillermo del Toro at last week’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony for Rick Baker, the director was enthusiastic about the time he was having making Pacific Rim for Warner Bros. and Legendary. His happiness was palpable and it was clear his relationship with Legendary would continue on.
Now comes word that he’ll be returning to the director’s chair for Legendary with Crimson Peak, a project that has been bandied about in discussions with Del Toro. The film will see him returning to the horror genre as this is a haunted house film!
Del Toro tells Deadline, the project is “a very set-oriented, classical but at the same time modern take on the ghost story. It will allow me to play with the conventions of the genre I know and love, and at the same time subvert the old rules.”
The hopes are for Del Toro to begin shooting in early 2014.
In the same article, there appears to be hope that Del Toro can find new life for At the Mountains of Madness at Legendary as well.
