Trollhunter Director to Adapt Comic Book Enormous
Trollhunter director Andre Ovredal and producer Adrian Askarieh have appropriately-sized plans for an adaptation of Tim Daniel and Mehdi Cheggour's comic book series Enormous. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that the pair are working on a mult-tiered adaptation that could exist as a webseries, a television show and a feature film.
Published as a graphic novel at Image Comics, Enormous is set to continue as an ongoing comic book series at 215 Ink. The plot is officially described as follows:
You are the bottom of the food chain. A fading point of light in the course of evolutionary history. A dying species. You are human. You are a child – and Ellen Grace is coming to collect you. The ‘Enormous’ have ravaged the planet. In their wake of destruction, mankind has fallen. The race to stave off extinction has begun.

Although attempts for a similarly-scaled adaptation of Stephen King's The Dark Tower have apparently fallen through this past year due to financial concerns, Ovredal's Trollhunter was able to accomplish large-scale effects on a budget under $1 million.
