Lara Jean Chorostecki is the latest actor to join the growing cast of Hannibal, NBC’s series about the literary and cinematic world’s favorite cannibal, Hannibal Lecter. Chorostecki – best known for her turn on Camelot – is taking on a role previously filled by Stephen Lang in Manhunter and Philip Seymour Hoffman in Red Dragon.
According to TV Line, she’ll play Freddie Lounds, a sleazy tabloid journalist who creates trouble for FBI agent William Graham (played by Hugh Dancy).
Mads Mikkelsen is Hannibal Lecter and Laurence Fishburne is Graham’s boss Jack Crawford. The series will follow the early days of Lecter and Graham when they worked together to solve cases. David Slade is directing the pilot and Bryan Fuller is acting as showrunner.
