Ashley Greene Featured in New Photo from The Apparition, Director on Practical FX

MTV has premiered a new image from The Apparition, the supernatural thriller opening from Warner Bros. opening on August 24th.  Greene shares the screen with Sebastian Stan (Bucky in Captain America).

Together, they play young couple Kelly and Ben who discover they are being haunted by a presence that was accidentally conjured during a university parapsychology experiment. The horrifying apparition feeds on their fear and torments them no matter where they try to run. Their last hope is an expert in the supernatural, but even with his help they may already be too late to save themselves from this terrifying force.

After the jump you’ll find a larger look at the pic.

Director Todd Lincoln wanted to clarify with us one aspect that was touched on in MTV’s interview with Greene: The CGI.  Lincoln wanted to assure us that while there is some CG used, he pushed for a cinematic threat that was created practically.

“The film was done almost entirely practical,” Lincoln says.  ”Spectral Motion physically created a full body apparition based on original concept artwork by Aaron Sims. There is only some subtle CG removal and enhancements.”
