Exclusive First Look at the Creature from the Sundance Film Grabbers

When Grabbers rolled cameras in Ireland last year, Shock was there to bring you the first stills and word on this creature feature.  Many, many months later, the film is making its way to the Sundance Film Festival and is poised to premiere on January 23 under festival’s Park City at Midnight program.

Shock has landed a first look at one of the little beasties featured in the horror comedy.  It’s a hazy look, but more than what we’ve seen seen before in previously released stills.

Directed by Jon Wright, Grabbers tells of a small island that falls under attack by tentacled monsters.  Here’s the official synopsis:

Something sinister has come to the shores of Erin Island, unbeknownst to the quaint population of this sleepy fishing village resting somewhere off Ireland’s coast. First, some fishermen go missing. Then there is the rash of whale carcasses suddenly washing up on the beach. When the murders start, it’s up to two mismatched cops—an irresponsible alcoholic and his new partner, a by-the-book woman from the mainland—to protect the townsfolk from the giant, bloodsucking, tentacled aliens that prey upon them. Their only weapon, they discover, is booze. If they want to survive the creatures’ onslaught, everyone will have to get very, very drunk!
