Looking to match the tone of Alan Moore’s run
One project of note is the new version of Swamp Thing, currently in-development. Goldsman told the publication that Swamp Thing will be closer in tone to the character as presented in Alan Moore’s eerie, metaphysical horror comics rather than the rubber-suit bog creature from the 1982 Wes Craven movie.
“We want a film with real Southern, dark horror overtones, a little bit like a classic Universal horror film,” he says, knowing full well that his presence on the project will stir controversy — it’s a character that filmmaker Guillermo del Toro has called one of the “few remaining Holy Grails” in comics.
Goldman also talks about Jonah Hex (starring Josh Brolin and Megan Fox, due out next summer), the recently announced Lobo movie with Guy Ritchie at the helm, The Losers adaptation with Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the lead and much, much more. Check out the full piece right here.
