The horror-comedy is on the fast track has been tipped off director Kyle Newman is gearing up to enter a primate combat zone. According to our source, the Fanboys helmer is now attached to direct the horror-comedy War Monkeys.

Producer Robert Sanchez offered a “no comment” when we reached out to him for confirmation. He did assure us the project’s original director, Kevin Munroe, will remain on board in the producing capacity. Munroe is currently shooting the “Dylan Dog” adaptation Dead of Night in New Orleans and scheduling conflicts are preventing him from helming Monkeys.
