Like most of you.. I was very, very excited about RSVPing to watch this movie at a free screening in NYC on Thursday, Sept. 24th. Unfortunately, the "Paranormal Activity" RSVP website didn't mention that the free screening were a combination of Press and Audience screening and Press came first and the audience was there to fill in seats not taken by the press. The theater had an audience capacity of 283 people and by the time I got in line, it was 4 hours before the 11:59pm screening debut. As time went by, more and more people were showing up. By 11:30 pm, there were over 1,000 people waiting in line to catch the screening and the worst thing is that the line was not moving at all so by the time midnight came around only about 40 - 50 people were able to get in. So you know what came next.... people were so angry and upset for standing in line for so many hours, some were in line for over 5 hours and didn't get in..... a riot almost broke out... people were yelling and throwing paper and garbage at the promoter that was giving out the tickets for the screening. Very, very poor organization and management strategy.
My suggestion will be to the people that are going to RSVP for the free screening is to find out the theater capacity and if it's a combined PRESS AND AUDIENCE SCREENING.. if it is and you see more than 50 people in line.. don't waste your time on making the line... Remember.. you're only there to make the line, so the organizers can take pictures of the long line and fill in seats that the press does not occupy.

I, too, will lament to FREE SCREENING confusion, but here in Chicago. We must have missed our 11:59pm schedule by at least 20 minutes. My RSVP ticket was printed off my home printer and got me a really choice seat in the center of the theater (The Music Box). The seating process took forever and a day. The guy who announced the op/ed piece before the actual movie mumbled so much I almost walked out on him. The whole time people were being told to squeeze in together, which inadvertently resulted in a really cute chick sitting next to me.
Hey, I'm not complaining.

I've seen this movie in Sitges Festival and don't understand how it is being considered the scariest of recent years. It is boring from start to finish. At the finish watching it there were people who whistled the movie. 1/10

I have seen this movie and it is honeslty the scariest move i've personally seen. It's better than Emily Rose. It's rediculous. I felt like it was real and I was right with them. I was stunned at the end of the movie.

Honestly, this movie had some really creepy suspensful parts. Other than that, it was not scary at all.

this was one of the worst movies i have ever seen. to say that this is one of the scariest movies of all time is a crime. what are they comparing it to, my kids copies of goosebumps. it just amazes me that the movie companies will release a low budget piece of crap like this but only release trick r treat on dvd.

For the first 45 mins. or so I seriously thought about getting up and leaving several times, but after that 45 mins. you are on the edge of your seat. I wouldnt call it the scariest I have seen but it was unbelievably good, well after getting past that 45 min. mark anyway. You really feel for Micha and Katie its like you are right there with them experiencing it. I have heard that there are 3 different endings and would like to see the other 2 because frankly I was not pleased with the one in the movie at all. Over all it is a great scary movie much better than Blair Witch, which by the way I hated.

This is not one of the scariest movies of all. It is severely hurt by the ****ing retard boyfriend overacting like a son of a *****. You are constantly left wondering why the girl doesn't dump the idiot and go to a motel. I could have made this movie and made it better and in fact I WILL. It will not be hard.
