Please tell me this is a joke...

I first heard about this yesterday. I cant wait. I'm a big Romero fan. My one complaint is that the last couple of movies have been coming out too quickly. He was supposed to be making them every ten years. I guess this is just lost time for not having one in the 90's.

I'm really excited for this, George Romero is a genius. In answer to your question Ico, i think the reason why they have been coming out so close together is because Romero is pretty old, haha, and he's not getting any older. I really liked Diary, so i'm really excited about this.

@ ico... if he makes them every ten years, he'll be dead and wont give us more of his genius.

Posted by: ico on November 20, 2008 at 18:07:36

I understand what people are saying about George not getting any younger and i like that we're seeing his movies more often but i guess i like the idea of them coming out every decade, i guess what i'm saying is he's getting out of his rhythm or something.

I have a title suggestion " Day that Romero makes another crappy zombie flick". The guy is starting to give zombie flicks a bad name. The last two sucked. Dairy was awful. It seems like someone with his rep could atleast hire decent actors. I'm amazed and tired.

Untitled Romero Zombie film should be Unmade Romero Zombie film! I can't wait not to go see this. I'll save my money for a Boyle ar McKay movie.

what?

I think a great name for this movie would be "The World Is Dead." They have set up for that the past few movies and it seems like with a title like that it would have to be epic right?:)

Posted by: ico on November 30, 2008 at 23:17:21

I think if Romero ever dicides to end this series (which i hope he doesnt) he should have it end with the last man on earth dying, like in I am Legend (which this series is inspired by). I think that would be pretty cool because in his original script for Day of the Dead the zombie strain was going to just stop making it the end of the trilogy and i hated that idea so thankfully he didnt do that. But if he does ever decide to end it he should do it like I am Legend.

Posted by: Yeqon on December 1, 2008 at 11:08:56

Please don't ever bring up "I am Legend: the movie" in the same sentance as George Romero's name! That movie was horrible! The title doesn't even make sense in the movie. The book ,however outdated it now is, at least is a great story and makes the hero a legend to the masses of zombie hybrids that hve learned to cope though the use of drugs. Still I think the idea of the living dealing with the zombie hoard will be interesting. Especially in the northern states just leave them outside and let them unthaw in the summer like in World War Z!

Funny, I was going to mention "I Am Legend" as well. Haven't seen the newest remake, but the description of Romero's new movie reminded me a little of "The Last Man on Earth" version of it. I think it's an interesting idea; it was alluded to somewhat in "Diary": It would be awfully difficult to shoot your mom in the face if she was a zombie. These movies are often great because of a sense of escapism, but as Romero gets older, he probably is exploring more "realistic" issues such as these.

Hey zombie4peta show some respect, if it wasn't for Romero, who started the entire genre, you wouldn't have based your handle on them because you wouldn't think they were cool. Romero is the man! If you want someone to blame, blame hollywood they haven't given the man the room he needs to work in years.

hey i think it sounds like len barnharts reign of the dead books . but who cares its a zombie flick an its george!! RIGHT! diary was ok not great . but i hope they do well with world war z think that could be the big one everyones waiting for ? but think G.A.R could do lens books down to a tee in his sleep an come up with 2 great movies . hes pals with len anyway ????

Posted by: eccy70 on December 19, 2008 at 16:45:02

and I AM LEGEND did suck by the way !!!!

Posted by: ico on December 19, 2008 at 18:03:56

I wasnt talking about the I am Legend movie, i was talking about the book which is FAR better and, as George has said in interviews, inspired the Living Dead movies.

I would like to see Romero make a movie that goes with the continuity, as in taking place after Land of the Dead. Maybe this starts off at the beginning of the infection then the rest takes place after Land. I'd be surprised but you never know. I know i've posted on here way too much, i'm just a big fan and i've met Romero, he's a really nice guy.

sounds retarded

Posted by: zombie king on January 3, 2009 at 22:15:09

Don't you people ever stop *****ing, people who complain about a new movie can't do what Romero does and never could, how do you judge a movie that has not come out yet, you can't do no better, let the man who enertained us since Night of The Living Dead keep making his movies and those who ***** just shut up already
Your making me sick

Posted by: ico on January 3, 2009 at 23:42:40

Posted by: ogre8186 on January 9, 2009 at 21:00:21

i'm gonna take a shot in the dark here. the title is gonna be "Island of the Dead" hahaha... oh god, i hope not. I love you Romero but for the love of god stop making bad zombie movies, you should have just stopped with the holy trilogy Night,Dawn, and Day they were good enough for me.

Chainsawjack, His last 2 movies were crap! tell me I'm wrong! you can't! The guy has lost any spark he may have had in the 70's and 80's. And he was not the first person to make a zombie movie. Have you ever seen "the Last Man on Earth"? I do like his earlier work but as of late, its all been crap.

what?

Posted by: ico on January 10, 2009 at 02:19:10

ZOMBIE4PETA

"His last 2 movies were crap! tell me I'm wrong! you can't!"

I've got to say i think you're wrong. I like each living dead movie for different reasons. Each one has it's merrits. When ever he made a movie it wasnt what i expected and he tries to do something different for each movie.

Posted by: ZOMBIE4PETA on January 10, 2009 at 03:38:14

ico, maybe your easier to satisfy? The acting is piss poor at best in Diary and The cast for Land was great but the story sucked (Lets use fireworks to occupy the Zombies, while we run crazy in the street)Stupid!
I would have gave him a pass on Land if Diary would have been half-a55 but it wasn't. It was crap. I bought the DVD and it took me 3 settings to finally finish. Usually I would watch a new DVD all the way through except it sucked to bad. But hey, to each his own. It cant be worse than the last 2 (well thats what I said about Diary compared to Land and I was wrong there too)

what?

I love Romero's movies! My dad got me hooked on 'em when I was only 9 years old. I was such a tomboy then, but man, its the part of me that still lives on through these movies. I get excited when I hear a new Romero movie comes out, kind of like a little kid on xmas morning, all excited for that huge present I've been waiting to open.

I will not be able to stand it if they have some idiot remake Night of the Living Dead like they did in the 90's. Its a classic for a reason.

I do however did enjoy on some small level the Dawn of the Dead remake. I did not like how they had the zombies running, it was not believable and it was more gory then the original.

I could not stand the Day of the Dead remake that came out last year. Oh my god, that sucked more then watching a cow go through a meat grinder on a farm! I wanted to stab my eyes out after seeing that c**p! They had the zombies jumping and leaping and acting like they had a senses of humor. They also had some very cheesy effects for a few scenes and really wrote a sucky script.

Land of the Dead was good, not great, but good. It lacked a few things, but overall, it kept me in my seat watching from beginning to end everytime.

I enjoyed Diary of the Dead because George decided to go back to the drawing board and start fresh, cause if he picked up where Land of the Dead left off, it would have been a horrible choice and I think he knew that. And plus I think it was a good move to do something that was from the view of someone that was personally dealing with it, where as he has it in 3rd person view, never in 1st person, which adds an extra element for surprise, because sometimes you have to use your imagination to get what happen from what you couldn't see, but only hear.

Which is why I think this next one will be just as good. Its suppose to be where they left off with Diary of the Dead. Cause its all three survivors locked in a safe room with nothing but guns and security cameras and a parade of zombies filling up the mansion, which is a scary concept if that were to really happen.

What can I say, I a young woman that thrives on getting a good scare...
