Plot Summary: Jaws... lots and lots of jaws. From acclaimed director Alexandre Aja comes the new action thriller Piranha 3D, in the latest eye-popping 3D technology. A new type of terror is about to be cut loose on beautiful Lake Victoria. After a sudden underwater tremor sets free scores of the prehistoric man-eating fish, an unlikely group of strangers must band together to stop themselves from becoming fish food for the area’s new razor-toothed residents. But our heroine (Elisabeth Shue) is seriously outnumbered, and with only one chance to save the lake and her family from totally being devoured, she must risk everything to destroy the aquatic carnivores herself.

Come on. Enough remakes. And in 3-D? Going to kill it. Big time.

This movie is so old I can't even remember what happened in the original so it'll be like new to me. Do they even have the original movie on DVD because my VCR broke awhile back?
Second the guy about swimming in lakes. I still hate doing that. Seen too many movies in my day that I always think about something...getting jitters thinking about it.

neither mirrors nor piranha is a remake. even if they were they would be doing the originals big favours.

the original piranha was pretty good for its time, but i believe the alexandre wont let us down in making this remake, even though its not original story line, a big success.

I enjoyed the original as a young budding horror movie buff, and ever since I saw "high tension", i have enthusiastically watched everything that Aja has directed. So when I heard "Pirahna" coupled with Aja's name, the child in me smiled big and wide. Then I read "3-D" and that smile just evaporated , what a wasted opportunity. All of these new 3D horror movies they just suck suck suck. Aja is a talented voice in the arena of horror direction and to make it it 3-d , just cheeses the whole thing out

In an interview Aja says 1000 people die in this movie.

If you like blood and guts, T&A and Blazing Saddles type humor, you will love this movie. I was on the set for 11 days on location. It will flat out be kick ass in 3D. They used more boats in this film than any film ever made in Hollywood. You will see body parts, both internal and external, blood like you wouldn't believe. Aja is a stickler for detail, scenes were shot from so many angles it is going to be a thrill show once the bloodletting begins.

I was also an extra for 3 days, I was a topless whore who would do anything for 87.00/a day. This movie is gonna rock. I'm gonna be death #389, the blonde with the butterfly tattoo on her left tittie.

While I agree remakes have not been that great since the last decade, I have to say that the remake of the Thing was pretty gnarly. Other than a few low key others, I have to say I am not surprised by people's doubts. I think it just depends on how you look at it. Some horror movies are just cheesy and awful, so-bad, it's actually good type. I don't blame people for not liking something over the other, because that comes with personal choice. A movie is supposed to have its share of people who like it and people who don't.

This film rules. Its awesome in every way, I really thought I wouldnt like it and even sat down in the cinema wondering why I bothered to hand over my cash, but boy was I wrong. The acting is good and the 3D is the best I have seen outside of Universal studios or Disney.
Loved It, loved it, loved it !!!!!!!
And Kelly Brook is so hot, those US girls aint got nothing on our english roses.
